Fees
Hughes Medical Clinic determines its own fee structure based on the AMA rates. Although we do not routinely bulk bill our patients we do provide a service for bulk billing our Defence Veterans.

Patients are required to pay in full for all consults on the day. Our TYRO Eftpos system allows patients to receive Medicare rebates back into their account instantaneously when they pay in full with their debit card (Savings or Cheque account). Alternatively patients can supply Medicare with their bank details (registered through MyGov) and Medicare will deposit the rebate into their elected bank account within 24 hours. Please note there is a card surcharge for transactions (1%-1.7% depending on card type). To avoid surcharges you can elect to use cash. Our surcharges are displayed at each terminal and our friendly team are able to advise you if paying over the phone.

Please note that a cancellation fee will apply for appointments cancelled within two hours of the appointment time or for 'no show' appointments. As of July 1st 2025, a Patient Administration Fee of $5 will be applied to most attendance services. The fee will automatically be applied to our practice fees and is included in the total advertised price. The Administration Fee goes to the practice, not the doctor, and has been introduced to help cover the costs of the new state-imposed Payroll Tax on GP wages.
